Is it enough to impress people with more innovative technology & functions? As newer functions and innovations are added, it's true that as products become ‘smarter’ they're more beneficial in our everyday lives, it's also true that it's becoming increasingly difficult to understand and fully utilize those functions. Another facet of ‘Meaningful Design’ is to bridge the gap between product and user, to make the experience as simple and seamless as possible. Our artist collaboration with Seungbae Kim started from this point. Together with three innovative products from Samsung Electronics, we attempted to bridge the gap through compelling and intuitive artwork.
The artist collaborating with Samsung Electronics is Seungbae Kim. A graduate of London's Central Saint Martins, his artwork and illustrations can be seen on a huge scale or as pixels in the form of character designs for a digital park project. Although still relatively new on the scene, we thought he was one to look out for and chose to work with him on this collaboration.
Developments in design and technology should ultimately benefit the consumer.
