For those who aspire to expand the boundaries of their careers, a home serves as a secondary office space. The desire to cultivate an environment that increases work efficiency not only applies to the office, but to the comfort of our homes as well.
The first step to enhance concentration and productivity is to tidy up your desk. A large screen monitor is a trusty work partner but often occupies too much desk space. Whether it is being used or not, the monitor stands tall on your desk and demands a presence that is hard not to notice.

Reunited with Space

The Space Monitor is the hidden card to keeping your desk tidy. A new type of stand that uses a clamp and the Clean Back design recovers much-needed desk space while establishing a stylish interior.

The creation of a new product category known as the Space Monitor throws back to a designer’s contemplations on space. Until now, monitor sizes have consistently grown for the sake of increasing work efficiency while desk spaces remained the same. We needed a product that could offer a new spatial experience. It took relentless research and deliberation to secure plenty of desk space while satisfying the needs for larger screens, and we eventually reached a solution. The change in conception made an unprecedented design that greatly enhanced usability. The new product provides 40% more desk space compared to previous monitors, securing both space and high productivity.

This metric is based on an internal test using a 120cm x 50cm desk and a standard sized monitor (Samsung SD850 32-inch) and may differ based on different user environments.

Clamp Is
the New Stand

Innovative Support

A clamp is an accessory that increases area efficiency by fastening itself at the top edge of the desk with a screw. It is often used with lightweight standing lamps since you can easily adjust height and angle. This clamp structure that lets you lift an object in the air for convenient manipulation was a smart solution that could replace traditional monitor stands.

Materializing this solution was not an easy task. We deliberated on a design that creates a new clamp structure that safely supports the weight of a heavy screen while being inexpensive enough for our customers when mass-produced. From designing a slim body that keeps the desk close to the wall, a sturdy structure that offers strong support, to a versatile usability that is compatible with various desk designs, the challenge for a new kind of clamp structure continued.

After countless attempts, a clamp structure that is flexible enough to be installed on a wide selection of desk sizes up to 90mm in thickness and powerful enough to securely support 27-inch and 32-inch screens was created. This innovation in the support structure of a monitor stand was only made possible by the support that was provided to the relentless spirit of challenge in our designers.

The Game of Push and Pull

The contemplation for better space efficiency led to the deep consideration for usability. We applied a dual hinge that adjusts the height of the monitor based on the degree of pushing or pulling on the screen to cater to the needs of different usage environments.
The hinge moves smoothly and boasts increased durability after having gone through a series of thorough tests. Users can pull on the monitor to reap the benefits of a large screen or push it back to reclaim some personal space. With the space you get back from pushing the monitor back to the wall, you can comfortably work on documents and make sketches, or juxtapose your laptop screen next to the monitor and work with both screens.

A Back Side You Want to See

The cables that stick out on the back side of the monitor has always been a nuisance when it comes to pushing the monitor further back against the wall. To achieve a more complete contact between the monitor and the wall, the Y Cable was created.

The Y Cable is the spectacular result that came out of the deep ponderings to better hide protruding cables in the back. We combined the power and HDMI cables to create a Y-shaped line and designed the neck of the stand to insert the cable. The now sleek back surface establishes a neat and tidy space whether the screen is pushed back to the wall or pulled out.

The Clean Back design enhances the finish quality of the back-side design , giving peace of mind for users no matter how they position the screen. This design aligns with the Samsung TV design identity of ‘360° Design’ that creates products that naturally blend into its surrounding space.

A Thin Line of Difference

The Space Monitor’s details embody as much meaning as its innovative structure. Its design that encompasses all spaces is the desired direction of this day and age that loves practicality.

The Space Monitor harmonizes seamlessly into any environment to shape a stylish space. The pristinely clean 3-sided bezel-less screen improves concentration when used and exudes a calm presence in its place when not used. Furthermore, the fabric pattern that looks as if it was weaved warmly permeates into the surrounding environment.
