ONE FINE DAY THROUGH THE SMART HOME

A Smart Day Experience with Samsung

  • This is a drawing of the livingroom.

We are accustomed to asking our smartphones for the weather and
getting recommendations from the TV for a movie that suits our tastes.
Smart technology is more embedded in our daily lives than we realize.
However, if such technologies are hard to use due to difficult controls
or disconnected from other devices, would they still be considered smart?
You can now experience a much smarter day-to-day life with the help of
the Smart Home, seen through the daily course of your newly independent life.

the product. The functions mentioned in this scenario may differ based on the country, region,
or product. For more information, please visit the Samsung.com (www.samsung.com) website.
  • It’s a relaxing Saturday morning
    and the weather is beautiful.
For someone who works 5 days
a week, this is the moment
I’ve been looking forward to all week.
I think I should just do nothing
but enjoy my freedom for the day.

  • This is a drawing of smartphone introducing schedule of the day.

That’s when Bixby begins the day with
a nice introduction to the weather.
It’s a hot and sunny day. I should check
my schedule for the day. “Hi, Bixby. What’s
    my schedule like today?”
Suddenly I’m wide awake when Bixby
    tells me about my plans.
    “2 PM: Big Housewarming Party”

  • This is a drawing of staring at a smartphone in the bed.

Throwing a house party has always
been something I wanted to do when
living on my own, but despite my passion
it feels impossible to get out of bed.
I look around and there are chores
to take care of everywhere. Better get
ready to welcome the guests. It’s almost
11 o’clock now. Only 3 hours until my
friends arrive! I’ll have to take care of
    laundry, cleaning, and even cooking
    within that time.

  • I should first take care of the dirty
laundry that is piled up. Doing laundry
is a huge hassle when living alone.
Is it okay to wash jeans and shirts
together? Or should I wash them
    separately? When faced with such
    daunting complications of laundry,
I can’t help but think about my mom.

This is a drawing of the washing machine.

I decide to call up Bixby. “Hi, Bixby. How
should I wash my jeans?” Bixby answers
my question as friendly as my mom would.
“Jeans can bleed onto other clothes so
it should be washed separately.” For a single
person living alone, that answer feels like
a ray of light shining down on me.

  • This is a drawing of the vacuum cleaning the floor.

Now it’s time to get groceries. There’s
a lot to do, but just by saying the phrase
“Hi, Bixby. Absent Mode,” the lights, TV,
A/C, and air purifier automatically turn
off based on my presets, and the robot
    vacuum cleaner starts to function.

  • With so much to prepare, I’m running
out of time. I think about just ordering
in, but I want to prepare a nice
    home-cooked meal for my guests.

  • This is a drawing of getting groceries at the super market.

While grocery shopping, I totally forgot
what was left in the fridge back home.
No need to worry. I’ll just check what’s
inside the fridge with the Smart Things App.

  • This is a drawing of the empty fridge.

Much to my dismay, the fridge is
completely empty. I better hurry up
    and get the groceries.

  • I need to get ready by the time my friends
arrive, so I’m getting a bit anxious.
I’m suddenly reminded of my dusty room back
home and the piles of dirty laundry that
I just pushed into the washing machine.
I quickly check what’s going on back home
    with the Smart Things App.

  • This is a drawing of remote controlling electronics through smartphone.

The wash cycle that started right before
I left now only has 30 minutes to go.
I need to hurry back home. The robot
vacuum cleaner is busy cleaning the house.
I adjust the settings so that it finishes
the job by the time I get home.

  • This is a drawing of showing cool breeze coming out from the house.

It’s so hot after all that running around
in the summer heat. I turn the A/C on
before I get home with the Smart Things
App. As soon as I open the door to
my house I feel the cool breeze of the air
conditioner. The fresh and crisp air helps
me feel rested after a busy trip to
the market. time to pick myself up again
and get started on the preparations!

  • As soon as I get home, I organize
    the groceries and start cooking.
It’s almost time for my friends to
arrive. I’m in such a hurry but I’ve
only got two hands. My plan is
    to prepare a home-cooked meal,
but I really don’t know where to start.

  • This is a drawing of the information from the fridge letting know how to make a pizza.

I ambitiously chose pizza for today’s
menu. I enjoy eating pizza but I have no
idea how to make one. Would Bixby know?
I call Bixby through the Family Hub.
“Hi, Bixby. Show me a pizza recipe.”
Bixby finds a recipe and teaches me step-by-
step on how to make my first pizza.

  • This is a drawing of a smartphone having a conversation with friend through text messages.

My friends should be here by now but
I haven’t heard from them yet. I should
check where they are at. “Hi, Bixby.
Send a text to Daniel asking where he is”
Oh! My friends are already at the front door!

  • This is a drawing of remote controlling TV through smartphone.

My friends are here and now chilling
in the living room. But I still need a lot of
time to finish cooking. The pot is boiling
but my buddies are crying out in boredom.
I’m only one person but I have a million
things to do. I should call Bixby for help.
Using my smartphone, I have Bixby turn
    on the TV.

  • This is a drawing of friends dancing with upbeat music.

Let’s get the party started! You can’t
have a decent party without some
upbeat music. Instead of going all
the way to the living room, I use my
smartphone to play music on the TV
from the kitchen. I’m playing from
the playlist that I’m hooked on these days.
My living room turns into a party floor
    in no time.

  • The eventful housewarming party
is all done now. I say farewell
to my friends and get ready to
wrap up for the day. It was a busy and
crazy day but I’m feeling great
since everything went just as planned.

  • This is a drawing of relaxing with a cat in the living room.

Having fun with my friends is great,
but now I need some time alone before
the day comes to an end. First, I need to
cool down a bit. “Hi, Bixby. Once it gets
cool enough please switch to Wind-Free
mode.” With that simple command, the air
conditioner will run until it reaches the right
    temperature and then automatically
    switch to Wind-Free mode.

  • This is a drawing of turning off the light with smartphone.

It was a tiresome but satisfying day.
I head to bed so I can recharge for
tomorrow. Before I sleep, I say bye to
    Bixby. “Hi, Bixby. Goodnight.”
All the busy workers of the day, from
the lights, the air conditioner, the TV,
and Bixby of course, now drift off
    into sleep.
