In our world, there are those who unsuspectingly follow conventional traditions and there are those who brilliantly set unprecedented standards. Just like what is familiar may not always be correct, what seems obvious may not be so obvious after all. When we break free from the confines of stereotypes and fixed perspectives, we encounter brand new values and the world can expand as much as the breadth of change we experience.
Thoughts and behaviors that we are well-accustomed to today were not always so apparent, and many have become new standards just recently. Here are designs that gradually transformed our daily lives by proposing new experiences.

A TV That Blends into Space

I always wanted the liberty of enjoying cinematic experiences in the comfort of my home, so I took a leap and bought a big screen TV. The sweet anticipation of welcoming the first TV in my own place is something I’ll never forget. But it didn’t take too long for me to feel uneasy about the dark rectangular figure in the middle of the living room that seemed to suck up my space like a black hole. There’s not much I can do about the huge black screen of the TV when it is turned off. It’s something I have to bear for buying a big TV.
But with the Ambient Mode, the TV became an essential object of my home that completes my stylish personal space. From daily weather, a clock, family photos, to artworks! Even when I’m not watching the TV, I can have my desired contents displayed on screen. The former image of my TV is long gone and has now become the Ambient Mode that magically breathes life into my space.

Ambient Mode This feature fills up the TV screen with patterns or textures of the wall that mimic its nearby surroundings when the TV is off, creating a visual effect that just leaves the frame. Personal or informative content such as the weather, recent news, pictures, or music can be provided on screen based on the needs and tastes of the customer.

Charging with Ease

My smartphone is pretty much glued to my hand throughout the day. But the inevitable truth of its limited battery capacity makes me anxious as life is slowly drained out of the smartphone over time. Whenever I stop by a cafe, the first thing I do is locating one of the few available outlets to charge my smartphone. Sitting down on a table with a stranger just so I can use the nearby outlet definitely makes things a little bit awkward.
But now, charging with a wired cable is a remnant of the past. All I have to do is gently place my smartphone on a wireless charger or slightly stack it on another device to let the charges flow. Charging wirelessly has become a no-brainer for our generation.

The Art of Paying

Different credit cards are used to take advantage of different benefits for every payment. But carrying all these cards at once results in a bloated wallet. On days when I leave a card behind, I always find myself in a situation where I need that particular credit card the most. When it’s finally my turn to pay at a register with a long line of customers behind me, the time it takes to open my wallet and dig around for the right card to get the most savings feels like eternity. It also seems like for whatever savings I make, I get a good number of raised eyebrows from those behind me.
Now I bid farewell to my bulky wallet thanks to Samsung Pay. I conveniently store all the cards in my smartphone and pick out the right one with a few simple touches. This is what it means to be truly smart.

Samsung Pay This service supports nearly all offline and online payments with a smartphone. Once a physical card is registered with the service, safe transactions can be made with a virtual card number and payment information such as biometrics, which is stored in the secure storage.

My Space, a Custom-Tailored Fridge

The long-held dream of getting my own place has finally come true. The joys of decorating each aspect of my home has been delightful. But there is concern for the refrigerator that is holding up a big chunk of space in my kitchen. A colorless fridge will look clean and be a safe choice, but I also want my kitchen to be a vibrant and refreshing space.
The Samsung Bespoke refrigerator can be decorated in any style I want by combining different materials and colors for the door. It acts as a personalized furniture that tastefully blends into its surroundings, aesthetically tying the room together. Home appliances can now be custom-tailored to unique tastes.

Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator This refrigerator allows customers to modify its door panels in their desired materials and colors. It is available in nine different types from 1-door to 4-doors models that can be combined together. Its design is mindful of the average depth of kitchen cabinets used in Korea and is fitted for minimal interference when opening the doors, which allows the refrigerator to easily fit in the kitchen cabinet.

A Wind-Free Breeze

Human desires are sometimes paradoxical. Spending summer without an air conditioner is absolutely unimaginable, but having wind directly blow on my skin isn’t too pleasant either. Goosebumps that rise up when struck with a cold gush of air or a messy hairstyle that is blown out of place by a strong wind are somewhat undesirable side-effects of the air conditioner. Wrapping myself up with a cardigan or blanket to alleviate these concerns feels a bit ridiculous and seems like an awful waste of energy.
The Wind-Free air conditioner is different.
