“Understanding a machine composed entirely of symbols and characters is
as difficult as understanding a human being.”
using full sentences.” A washing machine UI that makes it easy to set and operate a machine using a simple sentence.
Laundry machine UI can be complicated for first time users due to the numerous buttons and words
with multiple functions in such a small space.
CLEAN LINE-ONE is a new UI platform for laundry machines that allow users to intuitively and naturally understand the washing process.
A full-screen digital display shows the entire process, from washing to drying, and enables the user to control each stage using
touch-scrolling. The ‘Zoom mode’ and ‘Voice guidance’ function can be useful for the elderly and visually impaired. By incorporating
IoT technology, you can set a time for laundry to start and get a notification when your laundry is finished via your smartphone.

“Some sounds set your soul free, while others keep you safe from danger.”
As smartphone usage increases, the amount of young people listening to music through their earphones increases as well.
When using them outdoors, they eliminate external sounds and reduce the amount of concentration a user has on their surroundings,
increasing the risk of accidents.
FOCUS is an earphone designed with a unique cap that makes it easier to selectively block external sounds.
Users can easily operate the headphones while wearing them by pulling out or pushing in the crown on the back of the cap
(like a stem-winder) while wearing them . Pulling out the crown allows the user to let external sounds enter their ears
when outside, and pushing in the crown allows them to concentrate on their music. The cap’s intuitive form and function
with simple technology ensures that everyone can enjoy personal safety and their music at the same time.

“‘Designed for all’ is derived from the simple truth that everyone is different.”
The majority of hand dryers in public restrooms are installed at high positions, making them difficult to use
for children and those in a wheelchair. On the contrary, if they are installed too low they can be uncomfortable for tall users
as they need to bend their waist in order to dry their hands.
UNIVERSAL HAND DRYER is able to dry anyone’s hands, regardless of the installation height. The dryer is designed so that
wind circulates around the central console, allowing a user to dry their hands from any position.
The convenient filter exchange method solves the problem of bacteria growth among public hand dryers.

“It is important to establish clear boundaries in shared living spaces.”
and use it as it was my own…” BASKET WASHER is an easy and convenient way to store, move and wash your personal laundry
when living in a shared space. Mobile notifications tell you the status of your laundry.
Household appliances like refrigerators and washing machines are often used by many people in shared living spaces like
an apartment or dormitory. When sharing a washing machine with others it can be especially stressful as
it is hard to distinguish, manage, and remove one another’s clothes when doing laundry.
BASKET WASHER is a personal laundry basket for use in public washing machines and shared spaces.
The basket can easily store and carry clothes, being placed directly into the washing machine to prevent clothes
from becoming lost or misplaced. An electronic tag applied to the basket tells users the current status of their laundry,
allowing them to control and receive notifications on their smartphone when their laundry is finished.

“Our bodies gauge precise depth and location using only our two eyes.”
that detects their position.
When using a water purifier it can be difficult for the visually impaired to see where the water comes out from or
measure the amount of water in the cup. With traditional water purifiers, users must place a cup against a lever to get water,
taking a long time and making it difficult and uncomfortable to fill larger vessels like pots.
DRAG WATER is a water purifier featuring a wide base with multiple spouts that is designed to be more convenient
for users. Infrared sensors are used to identify where to pour water, regardless of a cup’s position.
For larger vessels like cooking pots, multiple spouts are used to make it quicker to fill with water. In addition, it is possible
to fill multiple cups with water at the same time.

“Sometimes we need gentle reminders because our memories may fail us.”
without interrupting our daily lives.” POST PILL, a medicine package that incorporates the idea of a Post-it® to make it easier
to remember to take your medication.
We often forget to take our medicine on time due to our busy daily routines. The elderly living apart from
their families may find it especially difficult to remember to take their medicine, causing a lot of worry.
POST PILL combines traditional medicine packaging with the idea of a Post-it® to create a medicine package
that can stick anywhere. The package features an adhesive strip that allows it to be attached to various surfaces.
We designed a package along with a calendar so that users can attach the packages to the calendar
to remind themselves or their patients to take their medicine. It features a unique color coded system to help time
the proper dosage, making the patient’s health the first priority.

“We oftentimes trade off safety for a lighter backpack.”
protecting users from various hazards during outdoor situations.
As more and more people enjoy outdoor activities, the risk of safety accidents also increases. Preparing for the exhilarating fun
that comes from outdoor activities often leads to insufficient preparation when planning for camp safety.
SAFE LANTERN combines a traditional lantern with safety features that can be easily carried during outdoor activities.
The lantern’s built-in smoke senor alarm and warning signal can warn users of dangers around them, such as a fire.
If a dangerous situation occurs while participating in outdoor activities, the user can simply unlock and push the emergency
button on the side of the lantern, transmitting their position via an internal GPS system to authorities.

“Despite its universal use, public transportation may be dangerous to some passengers.”
to safely depart from public buses.
The majority of bus accidents occur when buses suddenly start or stop, and when passengers get off the bus.
In particular certain people such as the pregnant, elderly and those with disabilities have a higher risk when exiting the vehicle.
UNIVERSAL BUS BELL is a bus bell system that gives special consideration to those special passengers including pregnant women,
the elderly and those with disabilities. The buzzer bell consists of two buttons - red and white. is separated into two categories,
one for the general public and the other for weaker passengers. Special The colored notification lights will light up
in the driver’s seat to tell the bus driver whom is exiting. The driver of the bus can make preparations to slowly stop the bus
and give more time for passengers to exit. A signal at the back of the bus is designed to notify other cars
to improve safety for all bus passengers.

‘THE BREATHING EYES’ is a media artwork within a wooden structure that portrays the natural connec-
tion between nature’s tranquility and the everyday life of a modern man. Spectators are led to empa-

mative expression of its surroundings, altogether offering a unique perspective that appreciates the
precious relationship between the two that we must never dismiss from our memories.
Guem, Min Jeong visualizes diverse layers of shared histories, personal memories, and narratives through various artistic platforms such as installations using visual media, sculptures, and performances. She skillfully utilizes architectural elements like walled spaces, doors, and pillars for juxtaposing images of reality and imagination to create a visual story of existence lying within the ambiguous bounds of authenticity.
