Samsung Electronics wanted to express the characteristics of their products emotionally in a collaboration of worldly artists using virtual reality technology at the 2014 IFA in Berlin, Germany from September 5th~10th.
'Origin of the Curve' in Visual Display Division booth is an arch-form 3D sculpture consisting of 26 units of Curved UHD TVs (65") and 12 units of M7 wireless speakers. The Curved UHD TV screen reacts to the audience’s movements by displaying intense colored patterns. Digital Artist Miguel Chevalier stated, "The Samsung Curved TV merged seamlessly with my artistic direction for 'Origin of the Curve' as it delivers the very best high-definition and color capability, coupled with an elegant curved design that draws you in and envelops the viewer."
The art gallery in the Home Appliance booth showcases illustrations themed on the WW9000 washing machine, as well as illustrations of Motion Sync and Powerbot, helping users emotionally connect with the products while easily demonstrating the newest features. This art gallery featured the work of three European graphic designers/illustrators - Emmanuel Romeuf, Klas Fahlen and Anna Kovecses. At the Home Appliance pavilion, "Center Stage" was created offering a chance for users to experience products through virtual reality. With a simple touch of the screen users can experience the 85-inch UHD screen or compare and experience other product features.
The exhibition strives to incorporate the sensibility of electronic products in a way that feels familiar and comfortable to users, not complicated or dry.
