The IDEA competition is one of the most influential in North America and puts design innovation at its core. Each year, Samsung Electronics is recognized for its forward thinking innovative design products and initiatives through IDEA.

The gold went to the Serif TV, best known for blending into the surroundings of the user with its simple design and understated colors and material. Easy to set on a shelf or a table, the Serif adjusts itself to your lifestyle. With detachable legs it’s just as easy to have it stand on the floor, or wherever you prefer to put it.

This year’s silver went to the Galaxy S7 edge smartphone, and the Gear 360 digital camera. The world’s first dual edge screen smartphone pushes the envelope in design as well as technological innovation. The compact yet easy to use Gear 360 takes photos of the surroundings for a truly immersive photographic experience.

The UX design of Gear S2 and stylish design of portable T3 SSD external drive received accolades by taking the bronze awards. The mixture of analog and digital on the Gear S2 has much to owe on the UX design making it feel more like a watch than a smart device. T3 SSD external drive has stylish two-tone color and slim-line design in the size of a business card.

Beside the above awarded products, 21 products have made it to the finalist showing the commitment to innovation and design of Samsung Electronics: the Family Hub home refrigerator with Full HD touchscreen that covers the entire front door, the 360CST air conditioner that delivers cool air equally to all parts of the home, the 2016 Smart TV OOBE UX that greets you in your own language, the 7 inch LCD touch screen of the MX3 A3 printer for quick and ease control, just to name a few.
