Starting from April 1st to 5th, Samsung Electronics participated in '2015 Seoul Living Design Fair' at COEX Seoul. Visual display division and Home appliance division showcased Samsung products by projecting them throughout the surrounding space creating a harmonious sensual environment with visual and auditory elements.
This year's theme centered around 'Family Hobbies' done at home such as cooking and gardening. Samsung adapted the concept of exhibition and reinterpreted under its own theme of 'Nature and Relaxation.' Omni-directional sound system of 'Wireless 360 Audio(Ambient WAM) was used to express 'Biotopia' and 'Air and Water' sources of a washing machine were used to demonstrate zero gravity space.
Contributed by the two spatial designers Sung Chil Park and Jong Hwan Baek, the work of VD transforms the sound of nature into a visual representation. This was realized through 'Wireless 360 Audio' projected on water, so that the viewers can enjoy the sound of the waves visually as well as acoustically.
In the center of the exhibition hall, a fountain-like sculpture filled with water surrounded by randomly installed 'Wireless 360 Audio' provides harmonic range. The sound emitted from the audios creates waves on the water, and this is magnified on the ceiling to create visual graphic realization.
Also, with the work of spatial designer Jung Han Ryu, Home appliance theme hall shows nature's cool and refreshing moments and heightened human sensory at the stage of zero gravity. In order to embody the 'timeless value' that nature holds, the designer placed mirror walls to express limitless boundaries. Furthermore, Ryu created a space that the viewers can actually feel the nature's comfort and refreshing air. Washing machines, A/C, air purifier each represent the symbolic meaning of water, wind, and air.
The ice-blue lighting feature of Q9000 and AW9000's ventilation allows users to easily catch the flow of air. And the air purifier AX7000's control panel lighting display directly shows the level of dust pollution in the air. Also, the double layered crystal blue door of washing machine WW9000 draws attention to cleanness of the laundry.
Samsung Electronics exhibition was all about the harmony of the senses that wind, sound, scent, and water waves deliver. By creating the utmost sensual experience, Samsung provided the viewers with realistic experience and ultimate relaxation.
Donghoon Chang, VP of Samsung Electronics Design Corporate Center, said "Design adds value to product. We wanted to deliver new value experience and consideration that we have transferred onto our products." He also added "I hope the visitors at the exhibition fully enjoy the comfort and sensual pleasure beyond looking at the products in its basic form.
