Mini Zipel by Han na, Kim / Sung min, Kim / Sung wan, Kim / Eu kyu, Song

'Mini Zipel' is a storage container for keeping produce at room temperature, created from Samsung's Zipel refrigerator packaging.

While the majority of produce is kept in a refrigerator, certain fruits and vegetables will quickly rot if they are not stored at room temperature. The 'Mini Zipel' is created from the packaging of the Zipel refrigerator. It organizes produce while preventing it from getting sunlight and extra moisture.
The 'Mini Zipel' features graphics that recreate the same shape as the Zipel refrigerator. Graphics on the drawers make it easy to organize fruit by type and size.

A lamp that takes advantage of a package's texture, color, and shape.

A box itself does not have aesthetic beauty, but there is potential when you examine its color, texture, and form. The design uses regular boxes, taking advantage of their easily foldible shape, to create an organic sculpture that provides a warm, comfortable atmosphere. The light will react differently at each space to create a sense of identity.

A smartphone package is transformed to become an alarm amplifier and night light.

Smartphone packages often use high-quality paper, but regardless of the quality they often end up discarded or thrown in a drawer. How can we successfully reuse a smartphone's packaging? The Lamp or Amp can be used in two ways, as a bedside lamp, or morning alarm amplifier.
Amp: Place your smartphone in the slot and the alarm will be amplified in the morning.
Lamp: Use your cellphone's flash to illuminate a night-time city scape onto the ceiling.

A table lamp is created using coffee grounds, discarded paper, and plastic cups. From coffee shops.

“Let's give purpose to discarded materials”
A mini lamp was created using old coffee grounds, paper packaging and discarded plastic cups that are commonly found in coffee shops. By grinding the coffee grounds into the used paper, a new, thinner paper was created. The varying thicknesses of the paper creates a unique atmosphere when the lamp is turned on. Along with creating the papers unique texture, the coffee grounds also provide a pleasant aroma.

PIU PIU is a design that can be quickly assembled from cardboard to create either a small stool or toy.

PIU PIU is a design that can be quickly assembled from cardboard to create either furniture or a toy. Assembly instructions are printed directly on the box which can be constructed simply by folding and tearing. It's modular design allows users to attach different animal heads to the body. PIU PIU can be used as a stool for children to sit on, or users can attach two structures together with rope and add wheels to create a pull toy.

A refrigerator box is used to create a rocking horse with 2 functions. Attach a bottom plate and create a rocking horse, or add wheels to the bottom to create a moveable toy. In order to support the weight and strength of children, the frame is supported by
6 sets of 3-layered cardboard pieces and features a saddle made of
41 layers of cardboard.

It is essential that animals have their own space to live and raise their young. However, this can be hard to find, especially in urban environments. The 'Nest for the rest' was created as a way to provide shelter for both domestic and wild animals.

The form functions as a way to remove moisture while maintaining a shoe's shape.

The form functions as a way to remove moisture from shoes as well as keep its shape. It is simply created from a cardboard box, not relying on additional materials. Various sized designs are printed on the box, including designs for men's women's and children's shoes, making it easy and convenient to construct.

Cocoon by Hyo joo, Kim / Ga Chi, Lee

'Cocoon' is a lamp created using boxes and translucent paper.

Packaging paper usually acts as a shell to protect a product, and then is immediately discarded. 'Cocoon' is a lamp that brings new life into used protective packaging materials. Inside of the 'Cocoon' is a light bulb that symbolizes new life. Much like a chrysalis hanging from a branch, the design can suspend from the ceiling with wires. As it is touched or blown by the wind, new patterns are illuminated, giving the impression that a life form begins to wake up.

Origami Tea Table by Yae ji, Jeong

A diamond shape table is created using the concept of Origami.

Due to its unique construction, the table is both light-weight and easy to use. The table captures the beauty and essence of a box by highlighting the material's texture, weight, and color. The table's design was inspired by the angled faces of a diamond, and constructed using an origami technique. The table's legs organically flow from its octagonal table-top, creating a surprisingly sturdy design.
