New values are added during this process to complete and elevate the standards that define a premium smartphone. It takes a step toward perfection while maintaining essential values.

Essence of Originality

We aspired to implement a simple and flat image that harmonizes without exposing the border between technology and design. With beautiful and smooth lines that resemble the curvatures of sand dunes in a desert, moderation and solidity coexist in the concise appearance of the Galaxy S series.

Geometric Bold The Galaxy inherits a design identity that captures only the most essential elements. A unique impression for the Galaxy S series was established with a flat design featuring a symmetrical front and back. Details on the sides are trimmed for a smoother and sleek appearance from any angle. The camera layout of the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra has been rearranged to create an identity that the Galaxy S series will maintain in the future. Particularly, the camera base of the Galaxy S22 and S22+ is positioned with equal horizontal and vertical gaps from the edge to complete a more refined layout.

Seamless Combination The Galaxy S22 and S22+ both have analogous colors for the metal camera housing and body, which creates a sense of unity. The sleek, flat line drawn by the side frames separates the camera housing and the frame, creating a clean-cut appearance. The mechanism, waterproof structure, and the angle of the camera housing were newly designed and delicately refined to achieve a concise appearance.

Newness Beyond Innovation

Raising the standard of premium further with novelty that adds innovation to its unique identity is also the direction pursued by Galaxy’s design. The Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra are advancing with the best performance and technology while better usage and expression methods are being considered.

Optical Illusion

The Galaxy S22 Ultra expresses the best performance with a sophisticated design. The scope of the Galaxy S series is expanded by inheriting the simple, yet sturdy design identity of the Galaxy Note optimized for the S Pen.
We sought to minimize the camera size through design as it tends to protrude and grow larger with its increasing performance. The camera’s mirrored metal frame creates a brand-new look through a specialized finishing method that gives a perception of the camera gently floating above the device body. These features allow the camera to blend with the body to create an elegant shape without protrusion by reflecting the color of the device on the mirrored metal frame depending on the angle.

Skillful, Yet Joyful S Pen The built-in S Pen brings you a more creative and joyful life by writing and drawing on the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s expansive screen. With the S Pen shortening its latency by 70%, you can enjoy a more realistic pen-to-paper feel. You can also open apps more easily with the Compact Mode on the Air Command. Samsung Notes experience becomes more convenient. When you want to save a link or a web page, you can save them easily with a pop-up or split screen of Samsung Notes to keep the page you have been viewing.

Expand Your World

One UI expands the possibilities and capabilities for users of the Galaxy S22 series. Widgets appropriate for the current time and location are automatically displayed when frequently used widgets are grouped with the Smart Widget. A widget notifies an upcoming event as well as indicates when the Galaxy Buds batteries are low. Now, the home screen can be used more efficiently since opening all widgets at once is unnecessary.
The camera has also been enhanced to allow users to take quality photos and videos of distant subjects or in dark areas. Functions that improve sharpness of facial photos and removing moiré patterns that appear when shooting TV or monitor screens have also been added to the gallery, providing a new photo remastering experience. The AI eraser in the photo editor shows intelligence by automatically detecting and removing shadows and light reflectors, exceeding the ability to manually select and erase subjects.

The newly introduced Samsung Wallet* combines digital payment, ID, and other digital valuables into one convenient and secure place. It will simplify your daily routine by providing layers of security to protect your private information.

Trendy Yet Classy

The colors of the Galaxy S22 series encompass both uniqueness and contemporary qualities. The classic and premium color that is unchanged for a long period becomes imbued with a touch of trendiness. The Galaxy S22 series as a whole will feature the colors Phantom Black, Phantom White, and Green. Pink Gold will be additionally available for the Galaxy S22 and S22+, while Galaxy S22 Ultra will have an additional option that comes in Burgundy. The Galaxy S22 series Phantom Black displays the premium value of the Galaxy with a more refined standard black color, and the Phantom White shines purely with the reflection of the metal body while encapsulating a message of hope and positivity. Green reflects the era and encompasses a variety of tastes, while Burgundy adds a modern and unique feeling to the premium value of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Pink Gold adds richness to color tones and textures with its double nano coating, revealing a variety of colors that exceed the limits of the standard pink color.

While the exterior design of the smartphone is simple and concise, the joy of choosing a personal cover is greater than ever. The small display above the S-View Flip Cover provides the same UX as the Galaxy Watch to convey a feeling of unified usability without any dissimilarities. The Frame cover provides two styles of the back plate, transparent and mirror, for easy decoration and replacement according to the user’s taste. Reduce & Recycle Packaging is another way of expressing the design identity of the Galaxy S22 series. The number 22 on the package expresses unity of the camera housing through smoothly permeating graphics, and the bold S image displays the stylish and flat design of the Galaxy S22 series.
The packaging was eco-consciously made. Our S series packaging has been reduced, using 100% recycled paper that consumes less water and energy than wood pulp. All components such as accessories and manuals were newly designed for a compact fit to reduce the volume. Through these efforts that consider the environment, the package volume of the S22 series has been reduced by 56% compared to the Galaxy S20, contributing to reducing carbon emission.

The Galaxy S series has been setting the standard of premium over the course of time. The ultimate goal of the Galaxy S series is to continuously provide mobile experiences based on user feedback and lead the evolution of the world.
