Connecting People and Technology

Samsung seeks to understand the interaction between people and technology deeply. It also suggests recipes based on the available ingredients, showing the recipe on the large screen or sending the recipe directly to the oven or induction, which automatically adjusts to the optimal settings for the dish. This makes it easier and more convenient to enjoy food management and culture.

We’ve developed a UX system optimized for LFD (Light Field Display) monitors that allows users to watch natural 3D videos without 3D glasses or other additional equipment. This provides a personalized viewing experience through layout and interaction systems tailored for 3D environments and minimizes visual fatigue. It also provides a more enjoyable viewing experience through AI special effects layers and 3D connectivity features that maximize immersion.

It visualizes the user’s space as a 3D map, so users can directly select and combine the speakers they’ll use. The user interface provides a birds-eye view so users can easily identify and choose speakers in their space, and it features refined icons and realistic visuals to create a seamless connection between the physical environment and the virtual UX space. Users can freely customize their audio environment according to their personal tastes and space layout for a personalized, optimized sound experience.

Advanced Design Concepts for Appliance Accessories
An image with gray, green, and brown filters arranged in a triangular pattern.

    Sustainable use and participation

With advanced design concepts for appliance accessories, our goal was to enhance the user experience of appliance accessories that require ongoing maintenance, like air purifier and vacuum filters, while also addressing the waste from regular replacements. To help users easily maintain and dispose of appliance accessories, we designed them differently according to the maintenance methods. Divided by color, gray is for semi-permanent accessories, green is for those that can be recycled or reused by the manufacturer, and brown is for items that can be disposed in the regular trash. To prevent confusion, icons indicate whether appliances can be washed in water.

Inclusive XR for User eXperience Design

A comfortable everyday life for all

We proposed an Inclusive XR (extended reality) design to help users who face difficulties in daily life due to disabilities live more independently. In the XR environment, where the physical world and virtual world merge, it goes beyond simply overcoming functional limitations to deliver a completely new accessibility experience. For users who have difficulty operating precise controllers, AR glasses enlarge the control panel in front of the washing machine for easier use, and for those who find it difficult to use the oven, XR visually shows the progress of the food over time as it cooks. We use technology and design to help everyone live a full life.
