Sound Interaction
Design
Sound interaction design allows intuitive use of Samsung Electronics products and services, while the brand value is conveyed through sound. By analyzing product requirements, markets, trends, and usability, we establish sound and haptic design strategies along with sound identities for each product line.
Establish core principles for Auditory UI (AUI) design, produce sound resources for usability, and apply them to products and services. Become a sound design expert by experiencing various sound production methods, including sound effects and voices, in the work process.

Junseong HanUX Team, Mobile eXperience Business
Our group consists of roles for OneUI basis, interaction, VI, Sound & Haptics, which are the basis of our apps and contents. I am currently in charge of sound design and brand sound production for various wearable products in the Auditory UX (AUX) aspect.
There are designers who majored in music technology or composition or have work experience related to them. On the haptic design side, there are designers experienced in engineering.
We work with artists every year to re-arrange ‘Over the Horizon,’ the representative sound of Samsung Electronics, and load it in smartphones. I remember working with a young British artist named Jacob Collier. His expressions are free and complex, and the unique composition from his final work surprised me and all the members of the department. The year after collaborating with our team, Jacob won the Grammy Award.
Always try to stay up-to-date. Actively using new music trends, sound products, and various daily services is preferred. Interest in the IT industry is as important as your musical sense. Becoming a sound designer is possible by using various services and products, looking for the hidden UX in them, and applying your own improvements.
I believe the same goes for them. We require a person who can quickly adapt to changes and progress without hindrance, like a Samsung Electronics designer. We need people who have confidence in their field of expertise and understand various fields and cultures.
