CMF Design
CMF designers establish a design strategy to add emotional and functional values to the product, implementing optimized materials, colors, and details. Based upon research on trending lifestyles, new materials, markets, and technologies, the designers establish CMF strategies required for product design. CMF literally means color, material, and finish. These three elements must be harmonized. After grabbing attention with the color, a satisfying experience should be provided by the feel. Like the order of CMF, color is the foundation, material is the center, and the perfect finish is the end.
I believe it is an important factor that determines the first impression of a product. Because people have different tastes in clothing and style, they must wear what suits them to stand out. CMF design ensures the product to stand out the most.
Initially, we start with defining the product concept with the product planning division. After that, we collaborate with product designers to design suitable CMFs. We also discuss marketing with the marketing division and work with engineers on mass production. From planning to launch, we cooperate with members from all departments.
First, a considerate person. Since CMF design involves delivering various emotions in complex methods, careful examination of the consumer is required. Second, a person with a new perspective and a flexible mind. This job requires a unique point of view that can flexibly and creatively observe objects. Third, a person who can create harmony. Like making a new dish with a mix of ingredients and nutrients, trying various combinations with a good understanding of materials and methods is preferred.
Develop your ability to view harmony from a broader perspective. It is also a good practice to predict tomorrow’s trends after seeing changes in society and culture. We propose a design that fits the persona, and analyzing the surroundings and lifestyles of various people will be helpful.
