obstacles and distractions from your surroundings
and wholly focus your mind and attention on a single
mark. We contemplated deeply on a TV that helps
users become completely immersed in their daily
lives in every moment they spend with their TVs.
This finely polished QLED TV design naturally blends
into its spatial surroundings, helping users become
more immersed in their day-to-day activities in any
moment regardless of using the TV or not.
We introduce the intricately crafted and refined
2018 Samsung QLED TV, a TV that provides
an unprecedented experience of total immersion.

Profoundly Conscientious

Environment
Providing more than just the beauty of form, the Samsung QLED TV’s design embodies a thoughtful consideration of the TV’s nearby environment to inspire an experience that makes users’ daily lives more meaningful.
Convoluted cables around the TV become distractions to the streams
of consciousness. The 2018 Samsung QLED TV utilizes the One Invisible
Connection, which combines the power cable and cables from other
accessorial devices into a single clear cable that eliminates visual
distractions and keeps the area around the TV tidy and spotless. This
clean-cut design enables users to be utterly immersed in the contents
of the TV when the TV is on, or in their daily pursuits when the TV is off.

Bringing Completion
to a Natural Harmony
with Life
A thoughtful design first starts from thoroughly and correctly understanding
the purpose and usage of a certain product. We contemplated on a design
that can gracefully harmonize with its space even when the TV is turned off.
The 2018 Samsung QLED TV’s Ambient Mode features UX through which
the TV screen looks as if it is projecting the wall behind the TV. Through this
design, users can experience a TV screen that becomes a part of the wall
maintaining a sense of spatial consistency.

Users can adjust the default wall images provided in the app
to better suit their unique spaces, or even take a picture of
their own wall with the app to set it as the wall image used
in the Ambient Mode.
They can use one of the default images provided by the app
or a personal image they’ve taken themselves to project
on the screen. On top of that, useful day-to-day information
such as the time, weather, or recent news can be also displayed
on the screen in real-time. The Ambient Mode can be customized
to suit a user’s lifestyle, serving as the finishing touch of a TV
screen that tastefully blends into any space even when the TV
is turned off.
We’ve also improved usability by including the Ambient Mode
button on the remote control for quick and easy access.

Rather than explaining with a plethora of words, we expressed the product’s
concept with a single image. We crafted Onscreen images that present a unique
visual encounter for users, taking ordinary objects such as a flower, a butterfly,
or a feather, and transforming it into a visually extraordinary experience.
These visually rich Onscreen images showcase a colorful splendor, effectively
setting the stage for the QLED TV’s vivacious picture quality. As the new face of
the 2018 Samsung QLED TV, Onscreen images are the point of intersection
between user and product, as well as the channel through which we convey
our design values of instilling the sheer ‘joy of viewing’ into everyday life.
